Occupational Health and Safety

DSI works in partnership with Federation of Energy, Geology and Mining Workers' Trade Unions of Mongolia (MEGM) on implementing occupational health and safety standards in the mining, geology, and energy sectors. Together in partnership, DSI educates peer leaders and sponsors activities aimed at increased education and prevention of communicable diseases for workers of small mining companies and ninjas (private miners), who have little or no access to occupational health awareness. DSI organizes health check-ups and health educational training seminars for workers in the mining, geology, and energy sectors. Together with MEGM, DSI established and organized numerous training modules for the peer educators of preventable diseases that are linked to these industries.
